The sunny island in the Baltic becomes host of the Pringles Kitesurf World Cup for the first time The world’s best Freestyle kitesurfers are flying at Fehmarn. The island in the Baltic has its premiere as host of the Pringles Kitesurf World Cup, the only German stop of the World Kiteboarding League. From August 26th until September 4th fans can look forward to spectacular jumps and thrilling races at the Südstrand. Besides the world-class sports, high-class side events, parties and concerts in the evening ensure a lot of entertainment and a festival atmosphere during the World Cup period at the sunny island Fehmarn. Sport / Wassersport / Kitesurfen: Pringles Kitesurf World Cup 20Since the premiere in 2006 the highlight in water sports has developed to become the biggest kitesurf event worldwide. 210.000 visitors followed the reckless action in the air and fast races of the kite experts. This summer we expect a similar crowd, because the absolute stars of the scene join the competition at the Südstrand. The current Freestyle World Champion Liam Whaley of Spain will be there as well as the five-time champion Aaron Hadlow. Last year the Brit won the supreme discipline at the Pringles Kitesurf World Cup for the second time in a row and is aiming for a hat trick at Fehmarn. The best prospects from a German perspective are with the multiple European Champion Mario Rodwald from Rendsburg, Linus Erdmann from Hamburg and Marian Hund from Munich. In the women’s fleet Sabrina Lutz from Hamburg, who became fifth last year, will try to earn one of the top spots. WKL_Events_Fehmarn2016_03The visitors at the Südstrand of the island in the Baltic will be entertained with a very attractive side program besides the action on the water. All well-known kite brands present the latest kitesurf and SUP equipment and surf trends, which can be tested on site, free of charge. In the evening the tented village transforms into a festival arena with top live acts and fabulous open air parties on the main stage. After the open air party we will not call it a night yet. For all party animals we open the doors of the former  “Haus des Gastes”, which is directly on the event ground. The location will be open daily from 22:00 until early in the morning. The DJs, which are known within the kitesurfing scene, will change every day and make sure that no shirt stays dry.   For all who love short distances and wants to be right in the middle of all, we offer the World Cup Campground. Placed directly at the event area we offer approximately 350 pitches for sleeping in your tent or vehicle. Fully equipped with showers, toilets and water stations the World Cup Campground offers all you need to fully enjoy the ten days of the event. The entrance to the Pringles Kitesurf World Cup is free of charge. Visitors only need to present their guest card when coming to the beach. All information about the Pringles Kitesurf World Cup Deutschland can be found at www.kitesurfworldcup.org and www.facebook.com/kitesurfworldcup/
